How to Put Jibbitz on Your Crocs The Easy Way!
Want to put Jibbitz on your Crocs as quickly, easily, and safely as possible?
There’s a fast and easy way to do it that will stop the pinholes from poking your feet that I don’t see anyone else talking about.
And yes, I’ve bought everything from LED pineapple and black cat Jibbitz to “Calm Down” pins. So I know a thing or two (sadly). Heck, I even have a glass of red wine Jibbitz for Friday workday luck.
OK, enough of how sad my life is.
Here’s How to Put on Your Jibbitz Croc Charms
First, Let’s Cover the Basics
In case you somehow landed on this article from space, let me get a few basics out of the way.
Obviously, you need to choose your Jibbitz first. If you don’t have any, here are a few of my favorites.
No, I am not a grown adult with all of these Crocs Charms…
Next, you need to decide which hole you’ll be placing these very grown up decorations in.
You have a total of 26 holes to choose from - 13 on each shoe. I highly recommend you space them out and don’t fill every hole.
What I do is a “one in every corner and one in the middle” type design. That’s 5 per shoe. You only want to fill about half of the holes or else you might start to get some discomfort.
OK, let’s put these bad boys in your shoes.
Method #1 - Off The Ground
Step 1- How to Hold Your Crocs Properly
Grab the first shoe with your left hand and slide your pointer finger into the toe area where the charm will go.
Now, place your pointer finger under the hole you intend to place the peg in. Make sure to steady the shoe with your thumb.
OK, nice and easy, right?
Step 2 - Place the Jibbitz in the Hole
Now, push the Jibbitz into the hole until it touches your pointer finger below (remember, your pointer is still under the hole).
Be sure to push it in far enough so that it stays attached to your Crocs without falling out.
You’re almost done…
Step 3 - Lock Your Jibbitz Into Place With Your Thumbs
Now comes the hard part.
Place both pointer fingers inside the toe area of your Crocs underneath the hole with the charm, and place both thumbs on top of the charm.
Make sense?
Pointer fingers underneath and thumbs on top.
Push down with your thumbs and up with your pointers as if you’re trying to squish the life out of your Crocs.
Push until you hear a loud POP.
That’s how you know it’s in there tight.
Method #2 - On The Ground
OK, just in case this isn’t your bag, let me cover putting Jibbitz on your Crocs with the shoe on the ground.
Step 1- Pinch Both Sides of the Opening
Without taking the shoe off the ground, use your pointer and thumb to pinch both sides of the hole. This will make it more oblong.
Step 2 - Place the Jibbitz in at an Angle
Slide the charm in at a 45-degree angle until it’s firmly inside.
Step 3 - PUSH!
Now, use your whole hand to SMASH the charm in until you hear that same delicious POP
sound.
Taking Your Jibbitz Out of Your Crocs
Removing your Crocs Charms is super easy.
All you have to do is pinch the area around the charm and pull the Jibbitz out at a 45-degree angle. Just don’t go too fast or you might damage the hole and make it more difficult to hold a charm the next time around.
What if You Have a Different Type of Crocs?
Just in case you’re a sociopath who doesn’t get normal Crocs clogs, I’ll cover a few of your other options for you here.
Tie-On Jibbitz
Tie-on Jibbitz are even easier than traditional ones. Just find an area on your Crocs sandals strap and center that bad boy on there. Wrap the tie around and clip it to the other side until it locks into place.
Clip-On Jibbitz
This works just like any other clip-on thing you’ve ever used in your life. Pinch the clip on the back until it opens and place it firmly anywhere on the clogs you want to display it.
To remove it, just push the clip again and take it off.
Boom, you’re adulting.
Jibbitz Tips
I’m not sure if this is sad or not, seeing as how I’m an adult…but I’ve done this long enough to have learned some helpful Jibbitz tips for you and your kids.
1. Jibbitz Can go on Just About Anything
I put my Crocs Charms on all my shoes (the clip-on or tie-on ones), and I even use them for little decorations around the house.
My kid’s backpack, on the mantle, in the play den_they can go just about anywhere.
2. Jibbitz Make an Awesome DIY Project
If you want to practice some arts and crafts, make a DIY charm bracelet with whatever Jibbitz you have. It’s fun to mix and match or try to complete a set.
You’ll need some jump rings and needle-nosed pliers to attach the charms to the bracelet. That is, unless you’re really crafty and can drill some holes in the charms. Up to you!
3. Jibbitz Are for All Types of Crocs
Jibbitz work on adult-sized and kids Crocs as well as Baby Crocs, so don’t hold back!
